Role Summary:

The role involves managing and publishing content during the assigned shift while adhering to the highest standards of professionalism, accuracy, quality, and appeal. This contributes to enhancing the platforms of "Al Ain News" and reaching all segments of the target audience.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and publish content during the assigned shift, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and quality, aligned with the "comprehensive journalist" model, to enrich "Al Ain News" platforms and expand audience reach.
  • Execute assignments and arrange daily work agendas in collaboration with the department head and chief editor.
  • Publish breaking news and content on the publication system, participate in external coverages, and write video scripts and interactive graphics.
  • Assign tasks to editors and related teams, including:
  • Preparing daily task schedules and distributing them among editors.
  • Setting priorities based on need.
  • Responding to newsroom editorial management assignments.
  • Coordinating shared tasks with other departments.
  • Lead and guide the team effectively by creating efficient and flexible operational plans, preparing task schedules, and prioritizing needs while clearly communicating assignments to team members and reporters.
  • Draft daily work agendas for publishing content on "Al Ain News" platforms efficiently and in coordination with other relevant departments.
  • Ensure compliance with the editorial and publishing policies of "Al Ain News" while maintaining the highest accuracy and quality standards in content creation.
  • Manage content from news agencies and other sources, ensuring it meets quality standards.
  • Create and publish breaking news, analytical and in-depth reports, interviews, profiles, trends, and SEO-based stories.
  • Direct daily preparation, review, and publication of content, alongside researching new ideas for digital content and compelling news stories.
  • Develop and publish multimedia content, including visuals, infographics, and data journalism materials.
  • Monitor and leverage visual and video content for "Al Ain News" platforms.
  • Write video scripts, participate in video programs and podcasts as required, and ensure compliance with all guidelines.
  • Manage the publication system with a focus on crafting appealing headlines, robust writing, and suitable multimedia attachments for digital journalism.
  • Provide guidance to the team, including reporters, freelancers, and multimedia staff, ensuring smooth execution of daily work agendas.
  • Make decisive content-related decisions to produce unique, exclusive digital content.
  • Contribute to coverage of events, interviews, and activities related to the department.
  • Resolve issues faced by the team during the shift and provide support to the direct supervisor as required.
  • Monitor the quality of published content daily, ensuring alignment with department standards.
  • Utilize advanced digital media tools, audience insights, and social media analytics to produce exceptional content and draft work agendas.
  • Ensure the team consistently meets editorial objectives, adheres to deadlines, and submits detailed production reports daily.
  • Assist the department head in preparing short- and medium-term content plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy in all interactions, in line with institutional policy.
  • Ensure adherence to the journalistic code of conduct and work ethics.


Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Media, Political Science, or equivalent field.
  • 5-7 years in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within media organizations.
  • Teamwork and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English (reading and writing).
  • Technical and professional knowledge of digital media.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
