EdTech Development Team Lead / Technical Project Manager (Contract)

About the Role

PROFYD is building a custom EdTech platform to power our global online tutoring operations. This platform will centralize teacher profiles, student scheduling, class delivery (with whiteboard and recording), AI-based class summaries, attendance automation, compliance monitoring, internal chat, and more — all synchronized across multiple global time zones.

We are seeking a hands-on EdTech Development Team Lead who will act as both Technical Lead and Project Manager — overseeing the full product lifecycle from planning to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and translate requirements from Support, Sales, Coordinators, and HR teams.
• Design system architecture ensuring speed, scalability, real-time sync, and security.
• Select and implement the technology stack, cloud infrastructure, and development framework.
• Build and lead a development team (in-house and/or external vendors).
• Oversee modern UI/UX design for teachers, students, coordinators, and admins.
• Manage the complete project roadmap, milestones, timelines, and budget.
• Lead development of major modules including:
• Class scheduling, assignment & calendar
• Live classroom with whiteboard, video, audio, and screen recording
• AI-based transcript + class summary generation
• Automated attendance and network quality reporting
• Knowledge Base (curriculum content hub for teachers/coordinators)
• Internal chat/collaboration tool (Skype-like)
• Basic HR tools & country-wise reporting dashboards
• Implement security measures to prevent teacher-student bypass or data theft.
• Coordinate QA, load testing, deployment, and training of internal teams.
• Provide post-launch support and handover documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in full-stack development or software architecture.
• 3+ years leading development teams or managing complex software projects.
• Proven experience with real-time, scalable, multi-user systems.
• Strong knowledge of cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), databases, and microservices.
• Familiarity with video conferencing APIs, whiteboard tools, and AI/ML integration is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
