We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable EHS Officer to oversee and implement all Environment, Health & Safety activities in our Printing & Packaging manufacturing facility located in Pune. The ideal candidate will ensure regulatory compliance, conduct regular safety inspections, manage audits, and promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:1. Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with Factories Act, BIS standards, MPCB, and MoEF regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analyses.
- Investigate accidents/near-misses and recommend corrective & preventive actions.
- Conduct safety drills, toolbox talks, and safety induction training for new employees.
- Implement and monitor safe operating procedures (SOPs) for printing and packaging machinery (e.g., rotogravure, flexographic presses, cutting, lamination units).
2. Environmental Management:
- Ensure proper management of waste (hazardous/non-hazardous), effluents, air emissions, and noise pollution as per MPCB norms.
- Maintain and update all environmental compliance records (e.g., consent to operate/establish, hazardous waste returns, water/air quality reports).
- Coordinate with environmental consultants and pollution control boards for inspections and renewals.
- Promote sustainable practices like energy conservation, waste segregation, and recycling initiatives within the plant.
3. Fire & Emergency Management:
- Conduct fire risk assessments and ensure availability and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment.
- Train staff on fire safety, first aid, and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Develop and implement an effective emergency response plan (ERP).
4. Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain all statutory registers and documentation under EHS regulations.
- Prepare and submit reports to local regulatory authorities (e.g., MPCB, DISH, MoEF, etc.).
- Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and audits.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Environmental Science / Chemistry OR
- Diploma / B.Tech in Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Safety (recognized under Factories Act)
- Experience:
- 4–7 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in Printing & Packaging / Manufacturing Industry.
- Knowledge of:
- Maharashtra Pollution Control Board norms
- ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards
- Legal requirements under the Factories Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, etc.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and training skills
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Computer proficiency in MS Office and EHS management software
