Responsibilities:
- Review and assess electrical design submissions including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
- Evaluate load calculations, single line diagrams, panel schedules, cable sizing, and voltage drop calculations.
- Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, authority regulations, and relevant international standards.
- Review material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, ICT, and architectural teams to resolve design interfaces and site issues.
- Conduct design assessments for transformers, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, and LV/MV distribution.
- Review designs for fire alarm, central battery systems, emergency lighting, and other life safety systems.
- Support value engineering studies and recommend cost-effective solutions without affecting performance or safety.
- Participate in design review meetings, track comments, and ensure timely closure of outstanding issues.
- Prepare technical reports, design review summaries, and compliance evaluations.
- Monitor contractor activities on-site and verify installation follows approved designs and industry best practices.
- Support testing, commissioning, and system validation for electrical installations.
- Ensure proper integration of renewable energy elements if applicable (such as solar PV).
- Evaluate electrical room layouts, equipment clearances, and cable routing for safety and maintainability.
- Verify BOQs, technical specifications, and detailed design documents.
- Coordinate with facility management teams to ensure systems support long-term operational needs.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in electrical design on major institutional or government projects.
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV systems, lighting, life safety systems, and electrical infrastructure.
- Good understanding of international standards such as IEC, NFPA, and IEEE.
- Previous experience working with PMC teams and design review procedures.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
