Role Definition and Mission

Under the guidance of the Chief Engineer or delegate, operates, maintains and repairs all aspects of the Hotels systems, in accordance with CLP standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency of equipment at all time.

Requirements

  • At least three years’ experience in international hotels.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent team player; able to build team morale with a passionate and energetic personality.
  • Strong execution and follow-up skills.


Responsibilities

  • Assures implementation of CLP policies, standards and procedures for:
  • Energy conservation and control.
  • Water and sewage quality control.
  • Fire prevention and life safety programmes.
  • Effective plant preventive and routine maintenance.
  • Operation and control of plant and equipment.
  • Energy management systems and procedure.
  • Pomec logs and utility consumption.
  • Inspection and staff supervision.
  • Pemec labor standard and labour cost controls.
  • Appearance and housekeeping of all equipment, plant rooms and relate workshops.
  • Responsible for the proper organization and functioning of the energy management function of the Pomec department.
  • Determines six monthly operating efficiencies of major equipment and take necessary corrective measures when variances from standards are excessive.
  • Supports and initiate programs for the improvement of procedures and the reduction of costs.
  • Establishes and maintains effective employee relations.
  • Participates in conducting fire prevention training programs.
  • Uses training and development resources to improve subordinates’ skills and abilities. Helps subordinates qualify for future job opportunities.
  • Determines programs for routine plant preventive maintenance and its implementation.
  • Ensure hotel repair and maintenance order system is in accordance with CLP policy and procedures.
  • Ensures a 10–15-minute response for all urgent maintenance requests including guest requests.
  • Communicates with guests by telephone of in person to ensure that maintenance request have been satisfactorily completed.
  • Performs facility / safety check ahead of function / event starting time and eliminate hazards and risks.
  • Performs facility / safety check of hotel premises and eliminate hazards and risks.
  • Coordinates with F&B and HK departments all requirements for any type of function / events.
  • Gives work direction, resolves problems, prepares schedules and sets deadlines.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety rules when undertaking maintenance and repair work.
  • Established and use techniques to monitor and supervise the work of subordinates. Monitors the results of delegated assignments.
  • Establishes courses of action to accomplish specific work schedules. Uses time efficiently. Personally well organized.
  • Attends and contributes to engineering departmental meetings.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
