Electrical Supervisor – Ras Laffan

Duties and Responsibilities
- Report to the nominated Qatargas Maintenance Supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with Qatargas Permit to Work procedures, electrical safety procedures, environmental, health, safety, and security regulations, and occupational health & safety standards.
- Conduct toolbox talks for maintenance crews and ensure safety measures outlined in JSA are implemented before starting work.
- Identify and report safety hazards, unsafe conditions, and near-misses as per reporting procedures.
- Provide close onsite supervision for all electrical jobs performed by technicians within RG facilities.
- Participate in troubleshooting and repairing critical electrical equipment during breakdowns; compile field data for analysis and investigation.
- Identify common failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance history, closeout reports, and logs of completed/ongoing work.
- Support other disciplines in troubleshooting and fault-finding of equipment.

Job-Specific Requirements
- Hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of:
o Power and Distribution Transformers (up to 33kV primary voltage)
o Switchgears up to 33kV
o Induction motors up to 6.6kV
o Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) and Battery Chargers (BC)
o Protection relays for transformers, switchgears, and motors
o Plant lighting and earthing systems
o Switching and LOTO procedures up to 6.6kV
o Use of testing equipment: Multimeter, Insulation Resistance Tester, Transformer Turns Ratio Tester, Digital Low Resistance Ohmmeter, Voltage Indicator
o Ability to read and analyze single-line and wiring diagrams for troubleshooting
- Ability to work effectively in a multinational environment
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and Qatargas personnel
- Strong safety focus and practical knowledge of permit-to-work systems and lockout procedures in LNG, Petrochemical, or continuous process industries

Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Education: Minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a 3-year technical diploma (HNC, HND, or equivalent) in Electrical from a recognized institution
- Work Experience: Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience, including at least 5 years in an Electrical Supervisor or Engineer role within diversified Oil & Gas or Petrochemical plants
- Computer Skills: Proficient with SAP and commonly used Microsoft Office software
- Language Skills: Good written and spoken English
- Specialized Training: Authorized Electrical Person (AEP) certification issued by recognized electrical institutions or previous employer
