What You'll Be Doing:

  • General oversight of Construction s inspection, surveying and testing requests for MEP works

  • Reviewing and verifying the contractor's work on underground piping systems within the facilities to ensure proper tightness, bedding, and grade

  • Validating the contractor's piping systems within the buildings, including P&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressure tests.

  • Inspecting electrical installations performed by the contractor to ensure proper grounding, circuit integrity, and compliance with statutory and customer regulations.

  • Coordinate and monitor all inspections, testing and materials reconciliation required to commission all MEP works, in order to obtain final N.O.C. s

  • Review and approval of the Contractor s MEP Shop Drawings as delegated by the Resident Engineer.

  • Monitoring the contractor's foundation installation for facility foundations to ensure correct location and bearing capacity.

  • Conducting ongoing inspections of painting and insulation in facility structures to ensure proper thickness and continuity of coverage.

  • Supervising the contractor's construction labor and subcontracted tasks within the facilities to ensure professional workmanship and adherence to quality standards.

  • Verifying the contractor's equipment alignment and balancing operations specific to facility systems.

  • Reviewing and contributing to the development of quality control reports, procedures, and documentation related to the contractor's work.

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of job safety practices and reviewing safety reports for facility construction activities.

  • Administering or witnessing welder qualification tests, as required, for facility-related construction works.

  • Performing inspections and monitoring the contractor's construction activities specifically for depot buildings, MPS, and TPS to ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Reporting non-conformances, delays, or deviations from the contract to the relevant stakeholders and ensuring corrective actions are implemented by the contractor.

  • Performing other responsibilities associated with this position, as needed.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 7+ years (Diploma holder) or 5+ (Degree holder) of relevant experience in supervising contractors on facility or building construction projects, with a focus on infrastructure such as depot buildings, maintenance buildings, annex structures and power substations (MPS and TPS).

  • Previous experience working on rail construction projects is mandatory, with a strong understanding of the unique requirements and standards of rail infrastructure.

  • Formal certification from an independent organization relevant to the type of inspection assignment (e.g., welding, concrete, or electrical inspections).

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications related to facility and building construction.

  • Thorough knowledge of construction processes, materials, and quality standards specific to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) works for facilities.

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control procedures in large-scale facility construction projects.

  • Proven experience in supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with project requirements, timelines, and quality standards
