TITLE: Elementary Library Media Specialist 26-27
Position Summary
The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking an elementary school library media specialist to join our team. A successful candidate will manage the school library, curating print and digital resources to foster a love of reading and support curriculum goals. They will teach information literacy, guide research skills, manage library technology, and collaborate with teachers to design learning experiences. Creating a culture of "Everyone Learning Every Day".

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or Education

Essential Functions And Key Responsibilities

Teach library skills, research strategies, digital citizenship, and information literacy to students.

Select, acquire, catalog, and maintain a diverse, up-to-date collection of print and digital resources, including books and AV materials.

Partner with teachers to align library resources with classroom curriculum and learning goals.

Supervise library paraprofessional(s) and collaborate with the computer lab paraprofessional(s) assigned to building.

Organize events like author visits, book fairs, and story times to promote a love of reading.

Administer the library budget, oversee technology, manage circulation systems, and train volunteers or staff.

Participate in library PLC and the district's digital leadership team.

Proficient with library automation systems, digital research databases, and student-facing instructional technologies.

Create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment that encourages inquiry and creativity.
Terms Of Employment

9 month contract (179 days) and a supplemental contract for an additional 2 weeks (10 days).

Salary Schedule - Salary is commensurate with experience and education. Base salary starts at $43,500

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Staff (teachers).
