Elementary School Teacher - 1st Grade

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to inspire and educate first-grade students in a vibrant learning environment. This role involves fostering a love for learning, supporting early childhood development, and creating engaging lessons that cater to diverse student needs. Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating literacy education, math, science, social studies, and creative activities.
  • Use innovative learning technology tools to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation.
  • Provide individualized support and tutoring for students who need extra help, including those with special education needs or on the autism spectrum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives and participate in staff meetings.
  • Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants, sharing best practices in early childhood education and classroom management.
  • Incorporate library services into lessons to promote literacy skills and foster a love for reading.
  • Engage with parents through regular communication about student progress and behavioral updates.
  • Support early intervention strategies to assist children with developmental delays or learning challenges.

Skills

  • Proven classroom experience working with young children in an elementary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Proficiency in working with learning technology platforms and educational software.
  • Skilled in lesson planning that integrates literacy education, math instruction, and hands-on activities.
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior constructively while fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Experience with special education accommodations and working with individuals with autism or other developmental needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to proofread instructional materials for clarity and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks such as standardized testing preparation, tutoring sessions, and curriculum development. Pay: $47,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
