Emergency 911 Dispatcher

The City of Havana is accepting resumes for Part-Time position of 9-1-1 Dispatch/Telecommunicator.

This position will provide a critical link in the Cities ability to deliver law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services, by being the first and most vital contact with citizens in need.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Quickly and accurately obtain and disseminate exact information from one or more sources simultaneously.

- Answer incoming 911 and non emergency telephone calls while remaining calm.

- Provide medical pre-arrival instructions as necessary during life threatening situations.

- Make multiple entries into a complex computerized system.

- Comply with a multitude of confidentiality laws regarding highly sensitive and personal information.

Starting Pay: $17.25 (per Teamsters contract.)

Applicants must have or pass the following requirements:

- Must be 21 yrs of age at time of hire and provide birth certificate

- Have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate required

- Must pass background check and pre employment drug screening

Pay: From $17.25 per hour
