Key Responsibilities:
- Energy Efficiency Analysis:
- Conduct detailed energy audits for facilities, operations, and systems to identify opportunities for energy savings and efficiency improvements.
- Analyse utility bills, energy consumption data, and energy usage patterns to assess performance and recommend actionable improvements.
- Develop and implement energy management strategies and best practices to reduce consumption and costs.
- Sustainability Initiatives:
- Lead sustainability initiatives, such as waste reduction, water conservation, and the adoption of green technologies.
- Design, implement, and manage renewable energy solutions, such as solar, wind, and geothermal systems, to reduce reliance on traditional energy sources.
- Help set and track sustainability goals aligned with corporate responsibility objectives.
- Building Systems Optimization:
- Oversee the optimization of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, and electrical systems for energy efficiency.
- Implement smart building technologies, including energy monitoring systems, automated lighting, and HVAC controls.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national energy efficiency regulations and environmental laws.
- Stay updated on new energy efficiency codes, sustainability standards, and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage energy-saving projects, from initial analysis through to execution, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and other departments to ensure energy-efficient upgrades are implemented properly.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular reports on energy usage, savings, and sustainability performance to management and stakeholders.
- Document all energy-saving measures, system changes, and improvements made.
- Research & Development:
- Conduct research into new and emerging energy-efficient technologies, green materials, and sustainability practices.
- Evaluate and pilot new technologies or solutions that can enhance energy performance or sustainability outcomes.
- Training & Awareness:
- Educate staff and stakeholders on energy-efficient practices, sustainability goals, and the importance of reducing environmental impact.
- Create and deliver training programs related to energy management and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or environmental engineering.
- Experience in energy audits, energy management systems, and sustainability reporting.
- Certifications:
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or other relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, ASHRAE, BPI).
- Familiarity with energy efficiency standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO 50001, Energy Star).
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of energy-saving technologies (e.g., LED lighting, HVAC systems, smart meters, renewable energy systems).
- Proficiency in energy modeling software, data analytics tools, and building management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices, green building standards, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and energy-specific software (e.g., RETScreen, EnergyPlus, eQUEST).
