Job Description
Dry Utilities Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and coordinating dry utilities networks—including power, telecommunications, street lighting, and related infrastructure—in accordance with Oman authority standards. The role requires experience in preparing detailed designs, coordinating with stakeholders, and producing technical documentation for various project stages. Ideal for an engineer with around 5 years of experience in dry utilities engineering within infrastructure or urban development projects.
Responsibilities

Prepare detailed designs for dry utility networks such as power distribution, telecom networks, street lighting, and associated infrastructure.

Develop utility layouts, load calculations, cable routing plans, trench sections, and coordination drawings.

Ensure all designs comply with relevant Oman authority requirements (e.g., OETC, MEDC, Ooredoo, Omantel).

Prepare design reports, technical specifications, BOQs, and construction‑ready drawings.

Coordinate with electrical, civil, and other engineering teams to resolve design interfaces.

Review utility data, topographic surveys, and development plans to incorporate accurate inputs.

Liaise with local authorities for submissions, queries, and approvals.

Support senior engineers in value engineering, risk identification, and design optimization.

Conduct site visits to verify existing services and gather technical information.

Address technical queries from clients, contractors, and external stakeholders during project execution.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in dry utilities design for infrastructure or urban development projects.

Good understanding of Oman authority standards and approval processes (OETC, MEDC, Ooredoo, Omantel, etc.).

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and utility design tools; knowledge of GIS applications is an advantage.

Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, telecom duct planning, and street lighting design.

Excellent analytical, coordination, and technical documentation skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.

GCC experience and a valid driving license are added advantages.

Professional memberships or relevant certifications are desirable.
