Engineer - Maintenance

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of plant machinery, utilities, and facilities. This role focuses on preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, quick troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The engineer works closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operations
  • Plan and execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of production machinery, utilities, and plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Perform pump, gearbox, and utility equipment servicing.
  • Ensure proper operation and monitoring of EB power supply and DG sets.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Improve machine reliability and OEE through systematic maintenance practices.
  • Implement Poka-Yoke solutions to reduce errors and equipment failures.
  • Support energy conservation and cost reduction initiatives.
Coordination & Support
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Supervise technicians during major breakdowns, shutdowns, installations, and overhauls.
  • Support new machine installation, commissioning, and plant upgrades.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown history, PM checklists, and spare parts usage logs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.
  • Support ISO audits by maintaining documentation and adherence to procedures.
Inventory & Procurement
  • Assist in identifying, procuring, and managing spare parts and maintenance consumables.
  • Monitor critical spares inventory to avoid production interruptions.
Authority
  • Execute breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Operate and maintain utility equipment and systems.
  • Update and maintain all maintenance-related records and documentation.
