  • Define project scope, develop investigation plans, and determine specifications (cost, timeline, sample requirements).
  • Review product files, examine samples, and apply UL requirements to establish appropriate test programs.
  • Conduct or witness tests at client sites and provide technical assistance for inspections and follow-up services.
  • Communicate with clients to resolve technical issues, explain UL procedures, and manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate laboratory activities, prepare data sheets and instructions, and oversee technician schedules.
  • Analyze product compliance and report deviations or changes in scope.
  • Prepare technical reports, Follow-Up Service Procedures, and maintain frequent client communication.
  • Support the development of UL standards, test methods, and equipment.
  • Represent UL at industry events such as seminars and trade shows.
  • Integrate continuous improvement practices into all aspects of the role.
  • Uphold UL’s Code of Conduct and ensure compliance with physical and digital security protocols.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in battery design, testing, certification, or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Li-ion battery technologies and construction principles.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
