A Solar Engineer in Qatar is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining solar energy systems — including residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects. They ensure compliance with Kahramaa and Qatar Construction Standards, while optimizing system efficiency under local climate conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and estimation of solar PV systems (on-grid/off-grid/hybrid).
- Conduct site surveys, shading analysis, and load assessments.
- Prepare technical drawings, layouts, and BOQs using tools like AutoCAD, PVsyst, or Helioscope.
- Coordinate with project teams for installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Ensure all work follows Qatar’s energy and safety regulations.
- Manage client communication and documentation for project approvals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in solar PV design and installation (preferably in the GCC).
- Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD, MS Office, and solar simulation software.
- Strong understanding of HSE standards and Kahramaa procedures.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
