Engineering and Product Design Manager - Large LED Displays

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc (MEPPI’s) award winning Diamond Vision Division (DVD) who engineers and designs large LED screens for stadiums, arenas and digital signage is seeking an experienced Engineering & Product Design Manager to lead the operations of the engineering department, oversee supplier sourcing and quality initiatives, and support product development, design, and installation of cutting-edge display systems. This role requires a technical leader who thrives on innovation, quality, and collaboration, ensuring our solutions set the standard in the industry.

  • This role will require the selected candidate to work at our Warrendale, PA office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Engineering Operations: Manage engineering staff and external suppliers to achieve company and departmental objectives. Provide training, cross-training, and continuing education opportunities, conduct performance reviews, and provide input on salary decisions.
  • Drive Product Development: Oversee engineering designs, system drawings, and specifications for hardware and software to support applications, project installations, and product development.
  • Strengthen Supplier Partnerships: Lead supplier and sourcing efforts, including product design, development, and acceptance testing, ensuring a competitive and complete line of display products.
  • Serve as Primary Liaison: Act as the main point of contact with overseas factories on all product and system-related matters.
  • Ensure Quality & Compliance: Develop and maintain factory acceptance testing protocols for all orders, certify engineering staff in quality procedures, and manage the Division’s Quality Reporting System (QRS).
  • Advance Product Launches: Collaborate with the General Manager and other departments on go-to-market strategies for new product introductions.
  • Maintain Technical Infrastructure: Create and manage BOMs and production documentation within the Syteline system; oversee the Division’s testing, training, and customer demonstration facility.
  • Support Customers: Provide engineering resources for on-site commissioning, advanced service support, and resolution of warranty issues.
  • Manage Service Operations: Oversee the Division’s parts repair and depot service, including inventory policies and processes.
  • Promote Innovation & Strategy: Recommend improvements in product design, development strategy, policies, and procedures, contributing to the Division’s long-term growth.
  • Enable Marketing Success: Assist in creating marketing materials, plans, and strategies to strengthen the Division’s professional image.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Required Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic Technology, Mechanical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of relevant large-scale video systems experience and a minimum of 5 years of management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of large-scale video systems, video production systems, and video/computer display systems; intermediate knowledge of commercial, structural, and electrical construction techniques.
  • Skills: Advanced analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software; ability to read, create, and interpret technical drawings.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, develop teams, and collaborate effectively across departments.
