About the Role
Descon Engineering is seeking a competent
Engineering Coordinator
to support
retrofitting and structural modification works
in an Oil & Gas facility. The selected candidate should have strong experience in reviewing structural drawings, coordinating design changes, and integrating new works with existing structures.
The role requires proficiency in evaluating temporary structures and providing hands‑on support to site teams during erection, reinforcement, and alignment activities. Effective coordination with design, planning, supply chain, and execution teams, along with adherence to safety and engineering standards in an industrial environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities

Execute civil/structural engineering tasks related to EPC projects within Oil & Gas plants.

Review structural design packages, redlines, and modification proposals, ensuring constructability.

Prepare and interpret drawings, BOQs, estimates, site sketches, and engineering documentation.

Coordinate design submissions, technical clarifications, and approvals with clients.

Collaborate closely with internal teams to meet engineering and construction milestones.

Ensure compliance with relevant engineering codes, standards, and safety requirements in live operating plants.

Support construction teams during structural erection, reinforcement, alignment, and modification works.

Evaluate temporary supports, lifting arrangements, and stability requirements for site activities.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in
Civil Engineering
(preferred) or
Mechanical Engineering
with relevant structural exposure.

Minimum 5–7 years of experience
in structural modification and retrofitting works within Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or industrial plants (brown fields).
Demonstrated experience in

Reviewing and interpreting structural drawings and design change documents.

Hands‑on site execution of steel erection, reinforcement, and alignment.

Coordination with design offices, planning, supply chain, and construction teams.

Experience working in
live plant environments
with strict safety and compliance protocols.

temporary structures

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of
structural behavior
, load transfer, and retrofitting methodologies.

Ability to review and interpret structural drawings, models, and calculations aligned with site conditions.

Experience preparing and validating BOQs, sketches, redlines, and engineering documentation.

Knowledge of engineering codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, ASME, and ASTM.
