Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel. This role is responsible for ensuring the property’s infrastructure, equipment, and systems are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. The Engineering Manager will lead a team of technicians to support the hotel’s day-to-day maintenance needs and long-term asset preservation goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the Engineering Department, including maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
• Supervise and train engineering and maintenance staff; create schedules and assign tasks.
• Ensure all hotel facilities and systems are in good working condition through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
• Oversee and coordinate repairs, upgrades, and renovation projects.
• Monitor utility usage and implement energy-saving initiatives.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and regulatory compliance.
• Respond promptly to guest and operational requests for repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, building codes, health & safety, and fire regulations.
• Manage departmental budgets, expenses, and vendor relationships.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Minimum [5+] years of experience in engineering or maintenance roles, with at least [2+] years in a supervisory or managerial capacity in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
• Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and hotel standards.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
