Engineering Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of design and manufacturing engineers and technicians.

2. Oversee product design, modeling, and documentation for fiberglass tanks, control panels, lift stations, filters, and related components.

3. Manage new product development projects from concept through production launch, ensuring timelines, budgets, and performance requirements are met.

4. Collaborate closely with production, quality, and purchasing teams to optimize processes and reduce cost while maintaining product integrity.

5. Review and improve engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and alignment with production needs.

6. Support R&D efforts in developing innovative solutions for water and wastewater treatment applications.

7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across design, assembly, and testing areas to enhance productivity and safety.

8. Ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.

9. Provide technical support for customer-specific designs, troubleshooting, and field performance issues.

10. Serve as a key liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and sales to align product capabilities with customer needs.

11. Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Background in aquatics systems, wastewater treatment, fiberglass fabrication, or pump/control systems strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) and familiar with ERP systems for production integration.
  • Hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes including fiberglass layup, assembly, plumbing, and electrical integration.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with day-to-day technical problem-solving.
