Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Logistics Manager with in-depth knowledge of construction materials to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics activities related to material handling, storage, transportation, and delivery across various construction sites. The ideal candidate must be bilingual (Arabic & English), possess relevant experience in the construction industry, and be familiar with local suppliers, import/export regulations, and inventory systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the supply chain of construction materials, from procurement to delivery at project sites.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules and avoid delays.
- Oversee inventory control, warehousing, and stock levels to minimize wastage and overstocking.
- Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and project managers to streamline logistics operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Coordinate customs clearance, shipping documentation, and transportation for imported materials.
- Evaluate and select logistics partners, negotiate terms, and manage performance.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies related to logistics and transportation.
- Monitor and optimize transportation costs, lead times, and delivery routes.
- Report regularly to senior management on logistics performance, risks, and material availability.
- Implement and monitor health and safety regulations in all logistics operations.
- Work closely with procurement and construction teams to forecast material requirements.
Requirements:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or relevant vocational/school degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field. Higher education or certifications in logistics/supply chain are a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in logistics management specific to construction materials.
- Strong knowledge of building and construction materials (e.g., steel, concrete, plumbing, electrical, finishing).
- Experience working in construction or contracting companies in the Gulf region, especially KSA.
- Language Skills:
- Fluent in Arabic and English (both spoken and written).
- Other Requirements:
- Must be currently residing in KSA or willing to relocate immediately.
- Valid transferable Iqama is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Familiar with ERP systems and logistics software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
