Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee department engineering staff, including supervision of engineers, technicians, and designers.

Oversee all engineering and related projects, ensuring compliance with industry and customer requirements.

Establish and enforce department standards, procedures, and strategic directives.

Provide technical support and direction to manufacturing, troubleshooting issues and resolving technical challenges.

Direct, coordinate, and monitor day-to-day operations, production times, staffing, and process improvements.

Develop and review project proposals, status reports, and present technical recommendations to senior leadership.

Collaborate with quoting, estimating, and marketing departments to support business operations and customer satisfaction.

Identify and develop relationships with qualified vendors and external partners; negotiate key contracts and terms of agreement.
Must-Have Skills:

Proven ability to lead and manage engineering teams and multiple concurrent projects.

Hands-on experience in engineering project management within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency with CAD software and 3-D modeling for component design and production support.

Solid background in precision machining, including knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment processes.

Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills at all organizational levels.

Ability to interpret and analyze engineering prints, drawings, and customer specifications.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field strongly preferred.
Nice-to-Have Skills:

Three or more years' experience in precision machining environments.

Experience negotiating with technology and tool suppliers.

Drafting and blueprint drawing skills.

Familiarity with ERP systems, especially for manufacturing routing (e.g., JobBOSS).

Background in aviation or aerospace industry standards and regulatory compliance.

Experience with customer relationship-building and new business development.

Training and mentoring team members or facilitating cross-department collaboration.
