Reporting to the Vice President – Operations you will make a valuable contribution as a team player to the organization’s success in developing opportunities and fulfilment of projects and development of systems.


Role Overview

The Engineering Manager will split responsibilities between:

  • 70%: Leading and executing detailed engineering for electrowinning skids and other hydrometallurgical process packages.
  • 30%: Driving customer-facing activities, including technical discussions, scope clarifications, specification compliance, and submission of engineering deliverables.


This role is highly cross-functional, interfacing with internal engineering teams, vendors, consultants, and customers across global markets, with significant collaboration with our engineering office in India.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


Engineering & Project Delivery (70%)

  • Lead basic and detailed engineering activities post sales order closure liaising with our hydromet process specialist team: preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment lists, line lists, and utility flow diagrams.
  • Develop and review process specification sheets, layouts, instrument lists/specifications, and ensure compliance with process requirements.
  • Implement best-in-class project engineering procedures and ensure compliance across the engineering team.
  • Manage and control all project documentation, ensuring traceability, accuracy, and timely submission.
  • Drive preparation of operation manuals, commissioning procedures, and troubleshooting guides for EW skids.
  • Continuously improve the skid-mounted / plug-and-play design approach to reduce site execution time and manpower requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal disciplines (mechanical, piping, I&C) to ensure seamless delivery of engineered packages.
  • Conduct safety reviews for new and existing EW systems to meet HSE and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support to project teams during procurement, fabrication, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.


Customer & Project Management (30%)

  • Interface with customers to clarify scope, technical specifications, and boundary conditions.
  • Attend customer meetings, provide technical presentations, and support sales teams with application engineering and feasibility documents.
  • Prepare and submit customer deliverables (engineering documents, bid clarifications, compliance matrices).
  • Support supply chain team in technical discussions with suppliers and customers.
  • Ensure specification compliance and alignment with customer requirements while safeguarding company’s commercial and technical interests.


Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and nurture a high-performing engineering team, foster collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Encourage professional development and sharing knowledge across the team to strengthen organizational capability.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience with OEM companies in Oil&Gas, mining/metallurgy, or other allied process industries is essential.
  • Strong grounding in hydrometallurgy/electrowinning operations; direct plant experience is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in detailed engineering and project management for skid-mounted process systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead technical teams, inspire collaboration, and develop talent.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to engage clients and build long-term relationships.
  • Creative and pragmatic problem-solver with a track record of delivering innovative solutions.
  • Travel flexibility: Ability to travel internationally, with ~40% of time spent at the engineering office in India and customer sites.
