Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Engineering Supervisor oversees daily engineering operations, ensuring all maintenance, repair, and project activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. This role provides leadership to a team of engineers and technicians, coordinates resources, and supports the planning and execution of engineering projects to improve reliability, efficiency, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of maintenance and engineering projects.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Engineering & Maintenance Operations

• Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, designs, and specifications.

Project Management

• Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects within budget and schedule.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality and compliance.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new systems or equipment.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to company safety policies, regulatory standards, and environmental requirements.
• Conduct safety inspections and participate in risk assessments.

Budgeting & Reporting

• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and resource plans.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and project progress.
• Generate reports and recommend improvements to management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
• 5+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, equipment reliability, and project management principles.
• Proficient with CAD software, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of safety and regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Experience in manufacturing, utilities, or plant operations environment.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.

Working Conditions:

• Combination of office and field work.
• May require occasional weekend or night shifts to support maintenance or project activities.
