JOB TITLE: Engineering Supervisor
REPORTING TO: Chief Engineer / DOE
THE POSITION
Under the guidance of the Chief Engineer / DOE, the position will operate, Control, maintain and repair all aspects of the Palace’s Systems, Programs, equipment, assets and Admins, in accordance with Boutique Group standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency at all times
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
-
Must meet all requirements of Engineering Coordinator.

Associate’s degree in engineering systems, controls, and administration, or equivalent 6 years’ experience.
-
Authorized locally to work in engineering systems, maintenance, controls, programs, and administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
4–6 years’ direct experience in Hospitality Engineering supervisory systems and controls.
-
Entry-level training in BMS (Building Management Systems) with ability to utilize control programs for troubleshooting.
-
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with ability to motivate and inspire teams.
-
Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
-
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality service.
-
Proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
-
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
-
Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency preferred.
-
Local market experience is an asset.
-
Familiarity with Palace/Maintenance management software, systems, and programs.
JOB DUTIES:

Maintain high confidentiality.

Immediately report all potential and real hazards.

Share responsibility for all supervised work, whether by staff or external contractors.

Develop contingency plans for breakdowns, ensuring readiness, staff training, and high-quality execution.

Implement and monitor preventive maintenance procedures through “Transcendent” software.
-
Prioritize repairs and ensure rapid resolution; involve Chief Engineer/DOE for disputes.
-
Perform preventive and routine maintenance according to PM & RPM programs.
-
Ensure strict follow-up on checklists, logbooks, procurement, and timely corrective actions.
-
Attend operational meetings and briefings as required.
-
Ensure staff familiarity with emergency equipment and procedures.
-
Execute regular technical and on-the-job training; maintain ongoing training programs.
-
Attend to all repair and maintenance work, including new extensions or other properties.
-
Respond to guest maintenance requests within 15 minutes and follow procedures.
-
Maintain plant rooms, workshops, and technical areas in clean and safe condition.
-
Complete repair and maintenance processes from assignment to handover, including parts, installation, testing, documentation, and updates.
-
Prepare systems and programs for status inspections; operate, control, and document engineering systems via software and site operations.
-
Maintain system temperatures and equipment runtimes through BMS and Auto-Flame.
-
Control energy management systems, including recommendations, guidance, and records.
-
Manage stock, minimum/maximum levels, and ensure operational availability.
-
Oversee reporting systems and ensure completion.
-
Implement, record, and update safety systems and programs under Chief Engineer/DOE guidance.
-
Ensure certificates, AMC, warranties, licenses, SOPs, and records remain valid and updated.
-
Manage engineering digitalization, archives, and corrective actions.
-
Conduct regular spot checks and inspections to ensure compliance with manufacturer guidance.
-
Control departmental expenses and implement budget accountability without compromising safety or service.
-
Oversee guest satisfaction program results and action plans.
-
Complete monthly closing processes, including attendance, record keeping, store handling, purchasing, safety updates, PM/RPM analysis, BMS updates, and utilities control.

Support Chief Engineer in supervising the department, maintaining tools, equipment, and plant safety.
-
Manage AMCs and contractors, ensuring service quality and accurate reporting.
-
Test and maintain all water systems according to international safety standards; maintain chemical stocks and records.
-
Prioritize work with Chief Engineer guidance.
-
Be fully familiar with fire and safety procedures and equipment operation.
-
Promote high levels of guest satisfaction through personal attitude and department standards.
-
Ensure maintenance complies with manufacturer instructions and departmental P&P.
-
Provide immediate updates to Chief Engineer/DOE on unusual issues.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Report to Chief Engineer/DOE or deputies.

Collaborate within Engineering and with other departments, guests, and contractors.
