Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Enrolled Agent to join our dynamic financial team. As an Enrolled Agent, you will serve as a trusted tax professional with the authority to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex tax issues, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and optimize their financial strategies. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, business, estate, and trust tax returns with precision and attention to detail.
- Represent clients before the IRS during audits, collections, and appeals, providing clear guidance and advocacy.
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies including estate planning, trusts, and estate law considerations.
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial data using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial tools.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state tax regulations by staying current on updates related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), securities law, and other relevant standards.
- Collaborate with clients on financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records.
Requirements
- Valid Enrolled Agent certification issued by the IRS with active licensing.
- Proven experience in tax experience including tax accounting, tax preparation, and audit representation.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts.
- Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software platforms.
- Expertise in estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law, mergers & acquisitions, private equity, asset management, and non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and report writing.
