Launch Your Engineering Career in a Consultative Sales Role with Consistent Pay, Mentorship & Room to Grow

Are you a recent Mechanical or Electrical Engineering graduate who loves solving problems, talking with people, and seeing your work make an impact? Do you want to use your technical background without being stuck behind a desk, while also learning proven sales techniques in a laid-back, supportive environment?

This role might be the perfect fit.

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys building relationships, and wants a career path that blends engineering knowledge, customer-facing work, and long-term financial growth—all while having consistent pay and a team that supports your development every step of the way.

What You’ll Do

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you’ll become a trusted partner to industrial customers, helping them find the right equipment, parts, and service solutions. You’ll learn the full sales cycle—without the high-pressure gimmicks—focusing on technical problem-solving, customer care, and long-term relationships.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Meeting with customers across a variety of industries to understand their needs and propose engineered solutions

  • Prospecting new opportunities through networking, research, and occasional cold outreach

  • Managing ongoing projects from initial contact through proposals, quoting, and closing

  • Working alongside engineering, production, and service teams to understand equipment and follow progress for customers

  • Providing parts and service support to keep customers up and running

  • Building long-term relationships with engineering firms, contractors, distributors, and end users

  • Maintaining your pipeline, nurturing prospects, and staying engaged with your territory

Typical activity includes:

  • 4–6 customer visits/calls per day

  • A few cold calls each week (we’ll teach you how to do these comfortably)

  • Tracking activity and maintaining customer information

  • Participating in the occasional trade show to build brand awareness and connect with new customers

What You’ll Learn

We don’t expect you to walk in with sales experience. We’ll teach you:

  • Technical product knowledge (compressors, systems, parts, and service)

  • How to run a full sales cycle from discovery to close

  • How to strategically grow a territory

  • How to communicate complex technical concepts in a customer-friendly way

  • How to build trust quickly with engineers, maintenance teams, and contractors

This is a long-term professional track with consistent base pay, stability, and meaningful opportunities to increase earnings through performance.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be successful here if you bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar technical field)

  • A desire to learn technical sales in a supportive, non-aggressive environment

  • Mechanical/electrical aptitude and interest in how equipment works

  • Strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with others

  • Curiosity, organization, and a self-starter mindset

  • Willingness to travel within your territory and occasionally overnight

  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team

If you already have sales experience—even internships—that’s a plus, but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Expectations

  • Mix of office, customer sites, and driving between visits

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs

  • Some bending, standing, or moving on customer sites

  • Occasional overnight travel

  • Mostly Monday–Friday schedule with autonomy over your day

Why Join Us?

  • Consistent, predictable pay

  • Clear path to higher earnings

  • Laid-back, supportive culture—no cutthroat sales mentality

  • Training, mentorship, and technical development

  • A career where engineering knowledge translates directly into customer impact

  • Stability within a long-established industrial manufacturing company

If you’re excited about blending engineering with sales—and want a career where you can grow your earning potential while staying grounded in your technical roots—we’d love to talk with you.
