Environmental Officer

1 Ensuring that all contents of the CEMP have been communicated to the construction staff and monitor all construction activities to ensure that identified and appropriate control measures are effective and in compliance with the CEMP.

2 Undertaking to monitor and report on environmental and sustainability performance.

3 Ensuring that all environmental mitigation measures are implemented and maintained.

4 Stopping work immediately if an unacceptable impact is likely to occur or requires other reasonable steps to be taken to avoid or minimize any adverse impact.

5 Assisting in investigating and resolving environmental complaints.

6 Disseminating waste reduction and waste management procedures to all relevant personnel on-site and monitor compliance.

7 Conducting regular environmental site inspections (daily and weekly) and ensuring that non-compliances and observations are reported to site supervisors / Consultant for corrective measures and follow-up closure.

8 Ensuring correct procedures are followed in the event of environmental incidents.

9 Maintaining relevant registers (incidents, complaints, non-conformance, permits, training, etc.).

10 Preparing information for environmental training and toolbox talks.

11 Assisting the Environmental Manager in updating and maintaining the CEMP and various registers and checklists.
