QHSE Officer (Arabic)

Job Purpose

To ensure the effective implementation, monitoring, and compliance of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards across school civil maintenance projects, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with local regulations and client requirements, particularly in Arabic-speaking school environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and work instructions at site.
• Conduct daily site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar HSE laws, and school safety standards.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions in Arabic.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor PPE usage, work permits, and safety signage.
• Monitor quality of civil maintenance works such as:
• Masonry & plaster works
• Painting & finishing
• Tiling & flooring
• Waterproofing
• Carpentry & gypsum works
• Ensure work execution complies with approved method statements, drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections and snag-list closures.
• Maintain quality records and inspection checklists.
• Ensure proper waste management and disposal.
• Control dust, noise, and environmental hazards within school premises.
• Promote environmentally responsible practices.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with school safety regulations.
• Coordinate closely with school administrators, supervisors, and FM teams.
• Ensure safe working methods around students, teachers, and staff.
• Handle safety communication in Arabic with school management.
• Maintain Safety reports
• Incident investigation reports
• Inspection checklists
• Training records
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QHSE reports.
• Ensure documentation compliance for client audits and ISO standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in:
• Safety Engineering
• Environmental Science
• NEBOSH / IOSH preferred

Certifications (Preferred)

• NEBOSH IGC
• IOSH Managing Safely
• First Aid & Fire Safety Training

Experience

• Minimum 07 years of QHSE experience
• Minimum 2 years in School Maintenance / Facility Management / Civil Maintenance
• Experience working in active school environments is highly preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Fluent in Arabic (Mandatory)
• Good command of English (reading & writing)
• Strong knowledge of HSE laws in Qatar
• Excellent communication & reporting skills
• Strong inspection, audit & risk assessment capability
• Ability to handle school safety environments professionally
