We are seeking an experienced Environmental&Social Manager to join our team and overseeing environmental & social governance policies and procedures compliance on one of our industrial project in Turkmenistan.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Form an in-depth and detailed knowledge of projects documents and a good knowledge of Turkmenistan and International standards about E&S subject,
  • Monitor the implementation of tasks and actions in your scope: ESDD, ESMP, ESAP, and all management plans, in cooperation with the contractor, in alignment with each party’s contractual responsibility; create performance indicators and report gaps; cooperate with all parties mainly EPC to avoid and minimize gaps to ensure they align with Project ESHS management system requirements and with the Contractor’s Management Plans and supporting sub-plans and method statements,
  • Oversight of the EPC Contractors’ activities, ensure and maintain ESMS related plans and procedures, identify risks, contribute to preventive measures and communication, develop trainings, make recommendations,
  • Coordination of the E&S activities at the construction site.
  • Follow the shareholders and funders requirements, monitor and report E&S related activities and provide technical expertise on key issues.
  • Focus on E&S matters, in compliance with international performance standards (IFC, EBRD) and national regulation.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing environmental & social governance policies and procedures.


Job Requirements

  • Graduated with a BSc or equivalent in a relevant field (Engineering, Environment or relevant)
  • Have a deep experience (10 years minimum) in implementing E&S policies in the frame of international funded project
  • Have a perfect mastery of IFC and EBRD performance standards
  • Advanced knowledge of English or Russian
  • Strong Environmental and Social skills including Health and Safety (with experience in public-private partnership projects, preferred),
  • Very good ability to manage relations with community and other stakeholders,
  • Experience of managing an E&S team,
  • Experience in project management,
  • Ability to manage complex situations with rigor.
