Job Description: Equipment Coordinator – Oil & Gas (Qatar)

Position Title: Equipment Coordinator

Department: Operations / Construction / Projects

Reports To: Preservation Manager / Construction Manager

Role Overview

The Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the planning, tracking, and coordination of all equipment requirements for project operations. This role requires strong experience in equipment management within the Oil & Gas/construction sector, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to work closely with project teams, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate allocation, mobilization, and demobilization of project equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain updated records of all equipment, including availability, utilization, and condition status.
  • Ensure equipment complies with client specifications, safety standards, and certification requirements.
  • Liaise with vendors, workshops, and maintenance teams for repairs, servicing, and inspections.
  • Monitor equipment performance, fuel consumption, and operational efficiency.
  • Support project teams by identifying equipment needs and ensuring timely deployment.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly equipment reports, logs, and performance summaries.
  • Assist in equipment-related audits and inspections conducted by clients or internal teams.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams for transportation and site movement of heavy equipment.
  • Verify operator credentials, equipment documents, and ensure compliance with site requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in equipment coordination, fleet management, or plant operations within the Oil & Gas or construction sector (Qatar/GCC preferred).
  • Certifications:
  • Knowledge of equipment certification standards (TPI, QA/QC)
  • Basic HSE certifications (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment, lifting machinery, tools, and asset management systems.
  • Excellent coordination, planning, and reporting skills.
  • Attributes: Organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in fast-paced project environments.
