Estimation Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimation Engineer to join our team and support infrastructure projects, with a focus on earthwork, cutting, filling, and grading. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with engineering and project teams to ensure efficient and profitable execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQs) for infrastructure projects, particularly those involving bulk earthwork (cutting, filling, grading, compaction, etc.).
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for earthworks, site preparation, excavation, backfilling, and other related civil works.
  • Conduct site visits when required to evaluate terrain, access, haul distances, and logistical challenges affecting pricing.
  • Source and evaluate material costs, labor, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and construction methods relevant to excavation and filling activities.
  • Collaborate with planning and engineering teams to align cost estimates with technical solutions and timelines.
  • Assist in risk assessment and identify cost-related variances or challenges.
  • Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals in coordination with the Estimation and Tendering Department.
  • Maintain and update a database of rates and costs for use in future estimates.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, clarification sessions, and post-tender negotiations as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estimation or quantity surveying, with a strong focus on earthworks and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in earthwork (cut & fill) operations.
  • Proficiency in estimation software such as Candy, CCS, CostX, or similar.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and civil design tools.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with local market rates, suppliers, and construction norms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
