Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender/bid documents for construction and interior fit-out projects
- Develop and submit material submittals, logs, and related documentation
- Obtain and analyze comparative quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Review subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with project scope and specifications
- Raise RFIs (Requests for Information) and clarification requests for accurate pricing and scope coverage
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and engineering documents to prepare BOQs, material lists, and tender documents
- Conduct site visits and prepare reports based on site conditions
- Coordinate with the design team to support initial drawings and concepts when required
- Prepare method statements for BOQ items when needed
- Identify and evaluate cost factors , including materials, labor, equipment, and production time
- Analyze technical documents and data sheets to ensure complete and accurate estimation
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Estimation Manager / Project Manager
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction and interior fit-out materials, methods, and costing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
- Expertise in BOQ preparation, estimation, and tendering
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in evaluating subcontractor quotations and technical proposals
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and estimation software
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- Experience: 3–5 years in estimation (construction / interior fit-out)
- Market Knowledge: Familiarity with UAE market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors is an added advantage
