Estimation Engineer

Job Title: Estimator (Construction & Fit-Out)Job Purpose

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting tender submissions for construction and interior fit-out projects. The role involves reviewing drawings, BOQs, and specifications to determine project costs, ensuring competitive and realistic pricing aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Estimation & Costing

  • Review drawings, specifications, and BOQs to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Quantify materials, labor, and resources required for projects.
  • Prepare and compile tender submissions, cost plans, and pricing breakdowns.
  • Ensure estimates consider high-end finishes, custom elements, and project complexity.

2. Vendor & Supplier Coordination

  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Compare prices and negotiate to achieve cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain an updated database of vendors, rates, and materials.

3. Tendering Support

  • Assist in pre-qualification, tender documentation, and submission processes.
  • Clarify scope of work and coordinate with design and project teams for accurate pricing.
  • Identify risks, exclusions, and assumptions in tender submissions.

4. Cost Analysis & Value Engineering

  • Analyze project costs and suggest value engineering options where applicable.
  • Ensure pricing aligns with company targets and project budgets.
  • Support commercial team with cost comparisons and feasibility studies.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
  • Prepare cost reports, bid summaries, and internal approvals.
  • Ensure all estimates are properly documented and traceable.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Min. 8 years of UAE experience in estimation for construction or interior fit-out projects.
  • Strong understanding of drawings, BOQs, and costing methods.
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and market rates (especially for fit-out works).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of estimation software is an advantage.
  • Good analytical, negotiation, and coordination skills.
