Job Summary

The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction and engineering projects. The role involves reviewing tender documents, analyzing project requirements, preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations, evaluating project costs, and supporting the tendering process to ensure successful bid submissions.

Key Responsibilities :

Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and project documents. Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontract works. Request, evaluate, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Prepare comprehensive tender pricing and commercial proposals. Analyze project scope, identify risks, and recommend cost-effective engineering solutions. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project management, and planning teams during tender preparation. Prepare value engineering proposals to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Maintain updated cost databases, productivity norms, and historical project records. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required. Review technical and commercial bid requirements to ensure full compliance. Prepare bid clarifications and respond to client queries during the tender stage. Support contract negotiations and project handover to the execution team. Monitor market prices for materials, equipment, and labor. Ensure estimates comply with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 3–10+ years of experience in estimation and tendering (depending on the position level). Experience in construction, MEP, oil & gas, industrial, infrastructure, or facilities management projects. Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity surveying, and cost estimation techniques. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and tendering procedures is an advantage.
