Estimation Engineer ( Civil)

Summary:

The Estimation Engineer – Civil is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and project budgets for civil and infrastructure projects, particularly those related to Ashghal and other government authorities in Qatar. The role involves analyzing drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents to determine project costs and support successful bid submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs for civil and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Analyze Ashghal and government tender requirements and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams during the tendering stage.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
• Prepare and submit technical and commercial bid proposals.
• Evaluate project risks and include contingency provisions in estimates.
• Maintain a cost database and historical project data for future estimates.
• Participate in tender meetings, site visits, and pre-bid conferences when required.
• Assist management in budget planning and cost control strategies.
• Ensure all estimates comply with Qatar construction regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in civil estimation, preferably in Qatar or GCC.
• Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of construction cost estimation and tendering procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and estimation software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Good knowledge of contract conditions, BOQ preparation, and cost analysis.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under tight tender deadlines.
