Job Summary

Al Bany Group is seeking experienced and detail-oriented Estimation Engineer – Heavy Steel Fabrications to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and commercial estimation experience in heavy steel fabrication projects, particularly in industrial, oil & gas, and smelter sectors. The candidate must possess solid knowledge of API and ASME codes, strong project estimation capability, and the ability to prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals. Expertise in Excel and Primavera is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical and commercial quotations for heavy steel fabrication projects.
• Analyze RFQs, tender documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Perform quantity take-offs, costing, pricing, and bid evaluations.
• Conduct site visits to gather project data and assess project scope. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production, and project teams for accurate estimation.
• Develop project schedules and planning using Primavera. Prepare estimation reports, bid summaries, and management presentations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable API and ASME standards and codes. Support contract negotiations and client clarifications during bidding stages.
• Maintain cost databases, vendor pricing, and estimation records. Participate in risk assessment and value engineering activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in estimation for heavy steel fabrication or industrial projects.
• Proven experience in smelter projects, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors. Strong knowledge and practical experience with: API Codes ASME Codes & Standards
• Strong technical understanding of: Pressure vessels Structural steel fabrication Piping systems Industrial equipment fabrication Experience in preparing complete technical and commercial bids.
• Ability to perform project cost analysis and budget forecasting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
• Excellent analytical and commercial understanding Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
• Preferred Experience working on EPC, oil & gas, refinery, or smelter projects Familiarity with fabrication shop operations and site execution activities
• Knowledge of international codes and industrial standards
