Key Responsibilities:
- Study and analyse tender documents, technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
- Select appropriate switchgear components (breakers, contactors, relays, meters, busbars, etc.) based on project requirements.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including costing, compliance statements, and deviations.
- Estimate project costs considering materials, labour, subcontracting, logistics, and overheads.
- Preparations of Heat Dissipation Calculations, Load Calculation & Discrimination Studies for LV Switchgear.
- Familiarity with Industrial Standards & Regulations (IEC, TAQA, ADNOC, DEWA, FEWA, SEWA, CMW & PGC, Etc.,).
- Estimating the complete LV distribution panels like LV panels, Capacitor Bank, SMDBs, MCC, Control Panels, ATS Panels, FDBs based on Single line diagram, load schedule, specification and vendor list as per the local authority Regulations.
- Prepare the Complete LV Switchgear Equipment Layout in AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to gather input for accurate estimation.
- Liaise with suppliers/vendors to obtain competitive quotes for equipment and materials.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and client specifications.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, technical clarifications, and discussions with consultants/clients.
- Support sales teams with technical presentations and proposal submissions.
- Update and maintain a database of material costs, supplier contacts, and estimation templates.
- Ensure timely submission of bids and proposals within deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 3–7 years of experience in estimation, costing, or design of LV switchgear/switchboards/MCC/PCC/DB’s.
- Strong knowledge of LV switchgear components (ABB, Schneider, Siemens, L&T / LK, EATON, DORMAN SMITH etc.).
- Familiarity with panel design, electrical schematics, and load calculations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, ABB ARTUK TOOL, EATON XENERGY & EBID and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred).
- Good understanding of tendering processes and commercial terms.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
