Estimation Manager

Job Summary:

The Estimation Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments. This role requires in-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, labor costs, and market rates. The Estimation Manager ensures all tenders and cost proposals are prepared with precision, aligning with project specifications, timelines, and company profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the estimation team in preparing detailed cost estimates for new and ongoing construction projects.
  • Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope and pricing.
  • Develop cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted services.
  • Review tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQs), and scope of work to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotations from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with project, procurement, design, and finance teams to ensure alignment of cost assumptions.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals, tender documentation, and cost submissions.
  • Conduct risk analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, unit rates, and market benchmarks.
  • Provide cost support during post-tender negotiations and value engineering discussions.
  • Track cost performance and suggest improvements for future estimates based on actual project data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction cost estimation, preferably with a high rise builder or real estate developer.
  • Strong knowledge of local construction practices, materials, labor rates, and vendor networks.
  • Proficient in estimation software
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B Tech/ M Tech/ Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in high-rise, residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
