Job Purpose
The Estimation Manager is responsible for leading the estimation and tendering function, ensuring accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for all projects. The role involves coordinating with engineering, procurement, and project teams to secure profitable projects and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities1. Tendering & Cost Estimation
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications, and scope of work to identify cost requirements.
- Ensure all project elements (material, labor, equipment, subcontractors, overheads) are included accurately.
- Analyze risks and opportunities to ensure profitability.
2. Vendor & Subcontractor Management
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Maintain and update a database of approved vendors and subcontractors.
- Evaluate quotations and select best value options.
3. Commercial & Contract Support
- Support the management team in pricing strategy and contract negotiations.
- Review tender terms and conditions and highlight commercial risks.
- Assist in variation pricing, cost control, and project budgeting.
4. Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide estimators, QS, and cost engineers.
- Allocate workloads and ensure deadlines are met.
- Review and approve all final estimates before submission.
5. Market & Cost Analysis
- Monitor market trends for material and labor costs.
- Maintain updated cost databases for accurate future estimations.
- Analyze past projects for benchmarking and improvements.
6. Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams.
- Prepare management reports on bid status, cost analysis, and project feasibility.
- Participate in project handover meetings after award.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
- Minimum 7–10 years experience in construction or interior fit-out estimation, preferably in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE construction practices, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and tendering
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, estimation software, and ERP systems
