Job Overview:

The Senior Estimator is responsible for calculating accurate and competitive costs for manufacturing National ID cards, Passports, Banking cards (EMV Visa MasterCard), SIM cards, Contactless Card, Dual Interface cards, Commercial cards, and other security-printed materials and Security solutions. The role involves analysing customer requirements, estimating costs, and preparing detailed sales offers that align with company profitability and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:

• Analyse customer requests for proposals (RFPs), including technical specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines.
• Calculate costs for raw materials, printing, personalization, packaging, and logistics.
• Factor in labor, machine usage, and overheads cost to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Adherence to the Costing & Estimations Policies and Procedures.

Sales Offer Preparation:

• Prepare detailed sales offers, including pricing breakdowns and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with the sales team to align offers with customer expectations and company policies.
• Maintain consistency in pricing structures and ensure adherence to approved margins and price approval matrix.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Coordinate with production, procurement, Quality and logistics teams to gather inputs for accurate estimations.
• Engage with procurement to obtain pricing for raw materials and specialized components when required.
• Communicate with sales team to clarify technical requirements or negotiate terms.

Market and Technical Analysis:

• Stay updated on market trends, competitor pricing, and advancements in security printing technology.
• Analyze customer feedback to refine cost models.

Data Management:

• Maintain an organized database of historical costings, quotes, and pricing models for future reference.
• Use estimating tools, software, or spreadsheets to streamline the estimation process.
• Creation of costing templates in the estimating tools for new products and updation of the existing costing templates from time to time.
• Updating the estimating tool with the new machines, its configuration, its machine hour rates, etc.
• Analysing the waste % and its updating in the master data.

Reporting and KPIs:

• Report on the number of estimations prepared, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators.
• Provide insights to the sales and management teams to improve pricing strategies and win rates.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor of Technology -Printing Technology
• Relevant educational background in a field that supports analytical and technical expertise (e.g., business, engineering, or printing-related disciplines).
• Experience:
• 3 - 7 years of relevant experience in cost estimation along with smart card production and printing process, especially in the security printing industry.
• Familiarity with ID, banking, or passport production processes is must.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other estimation tools/software.
• Knowledge of security printing processes, materials, and technologies.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ERP or MIS systems related to printing or manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of international security standards and compliance requirements.
