Job Title: Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator / Quantity Surveyor with 5 years of professional experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, performing quantity take-offs, analyzing project costs, and supporting the commercial management of projects from tender through to completion. A solid understanding of construction processes, market rates, and contract management is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction and infrastructure projects (pre-contract and post-contract).
• Perform quantity take-offs based on drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Evaluate tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope.
• Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Analyze material, labor, and equipment costs and prepare cost comparison sheets.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing information.
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor project costs during construction to ensure adherence to budget.
• Prepare and submit interim payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage risks related to cost and time.
• Work closely with the project team, engineers, architects, and clients.
• Provide regular cost reporting and forecasting to management.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cost estimation and quantity surveying.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
• Proficiency in estimation and quantity surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, Planswift, MS Excel).
• Familiarity with FIDIC and other contract standards is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
