Job Overview:

Under the general direction of the Director of Benefit Operations, the Executive Administrative Assistant 1 provides advanced administrative, operational, communications, and records support for Benefit Operations and regional field office activities. The position serves as an administrative liaison between executive leadership, department staff, federal, state, and local agencies, Veterans Service Organizations, community organizations, and internal and external customers. Executive Administrative Assistant 1 is responsible for coordinating complex calendars, meetings, travel, correspondence, reports, office equipment tracking, supply orders, operational records, workforce onboarding activities, and statewide communication tools. Performance of these duties requires discretion, sound judgment, attention to detail, timely follow-through, and frequent interaction with staff, partners, veterans, dependents, survivors, and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities:

Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work Documentation/Recording Information Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, and Internal/External Customers Interacting with Computers Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships Performing for or Working Directly with the Public Monitoring and Supporting Day-to-Day Operations

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree and two or more years of full-time professional staff administrative experience or related work. This position is designated Executive Service. As an Executive Service employee, you will serve at the discretion of the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services Necessary Special Qualifications: Applicants for this class: 1. Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive communications, records, and operational information. 2. Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to use office management systems and procedures effectively. 3. Must be able to multitask, prioritize daily workload, track deadlines, and complete assignments accurately and timely. 4. Must be able to travel statewide as needed to support meetings, events, trainings, and department operations. 5. Must be able to obtain and maintain required training, accreditation, and system access applicable to assigned duties.
