Executive Assistant to the CEO

About the Role

This is not a typical assistant job. This is a high-urgency, always-on communications role built for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and genuinely loves being in the middle of the action.

You will work directly alongside our CEO — on-site, every day — and your entire job is to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Customers get responded to. The team gets answers. Leads in our CRM are followed up on. Emails are handled. Calls are returned. While the CEO is pulled in a dozen directions, you are the person who ensures everyone waiting on him gets a timely, professional response.

Think of yourself less as an "assistant" and more as a communications quarterback.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Own all inbound communications — email, phone, text, and CRM leads — and ensure responses go out fast and professionally on behalf of the CEO
  • Shadow the CEO throughout the day — in meetings, on job sites, in the office — and interrupt when something needs his attention or when you can handle it yourself
  • Manage the CRM (leads, customer follow-ups, deal status) so no prospect goes cold and no customer feels ignored
  • Coordinate internally — when team members need something from the CEO, you are the hub that makes that happen efficiently
  • Prioritize relentlessly — you'll field a high volume of incoming requests and learn quickly what needs the CEO and what you can handle directly
  • Keep the CEO accountable — if something is overdue, you call it out. Your job is to help him get more done, not just stay busy

Who We're Looking For

We are not hiring for a resume. We are hiring for a person.

The right candidate:

  • Has an urgency reflex — when something comes in, your first instinct is to handle it, not wait
  • Is comfortable interrupting — you won't hesitate to walk into a meeting if a customer needs a response
  • Can communicate clearly and professionally in writing and by phone, even under pressure
  • Is highly organized without needing to be told twice — you'll manage multiple communication threads simultaneously
  • Learns fast — you don't need to know our industry on day one, but you need to absorb information quickly and apply it
  • Is dependable and present — this role requires physical presence in Blacksburg, SC, Monday through Friday
  • Has thick skin and a good attitude — fast-paced days, quick pivots, and high expectations are the norm here

Experience in a specific industry does NOT matter. We will teach you everything about sports lighting. What we can't teach is the drive to show up and perform.
