Executive Housekeeper – Job DescriptionPosition Overview

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness, maintenance, and organization of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This role ensures high standards of hygiene, guest satisfaction, and smooth housekeeping operations.

Key Responsibilities1. Operational Management

  • Supervise daily housekeeping activities, including cleaning schedules and staff assignments.
  • Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks meet hotel/organization standards.

2. Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Schedule staff shifts and manage attendance.
  • Provide continuous coaching and ensure high morale within the team.

3. Inventory & Supplies

  • Manage stock of cleaning supplies, linen, guest amenities, and equipment.
  • Monitor usage and control costs.
  • Coordinate with purchasing department for timely replenishment.

4. Guest & Customer Service

  • Address and resolve guest complaints related to housekeeping.
  • Ensure special guest requests (VIP rooms, setups, etc.) are completed on time.
  • Maintain strong communication with front office and other departments.

5. Health, Safety & Hygiene

  • Ensure compliance with hotel standards and legal regulations (fire safety, sanitation, chemical handling).
  • Conduct training on safe cleaning procedures and equipment use.
  • Maintain health and safety documentation.

6. Administration

  • Prepare housekeeping reports: room status, productivity, maintenance issues.
  • Develop budgets and monitor departmental expenses.
  • Implement housekeeping policies, SOPs, and quality control systems.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management (preferred) or relevant field.
  • 5–10 years of housekeeping experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, eco-friendly practices, and laundry operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage large teams.
  • Good computer skills (PMS, inventory software, MS Office).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹13,088.48 - ₹34,627.36 per month
