1. Core Responsibilities
A. Daily Operations Management

  • Oversee cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, nursing stations, OPD, ICU, corridors, toilets, reception, and administrative areas.
  • Ensure timely cleaning during patient discharge and admission.
  • Assign duties and manage shift schedules for HK staff.
  • Conduct daily rounds to verify cleanliness standards.

B. Infection Control & Hygiene

  • Implement hospital infection-control protocols.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, disinfectants, color-coded cleaning cloths/mops.
  • Monitor biomedical waste segregation (yellow/red/white/blue).
  • Coordinate with the Infection Control Nurse (ICN) for audits and corrective actions.

C. Staff Supervision & Training

  • Train housekeeping attendants on cleaning techniques, chemical handling, hand hygiene, and safety.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.
  • Maintain discipline, grooming standards, and attendance.

D. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to NABH or hospital quality standards.
  • Maintain checklists for:
  • Daily cleaning
  • Deep cleaning schedule
  • Terminal cleaning of rooms
  • Prepare reports on HK activities.

E. Inventory & Supplies Management

  • Maintain stock of chemicals, disinfectants, linens, mops, and cleaning machines.
  • Raise requisitions and ensure proper storage and usage.
  • Prevent misuse or wastage of materials.

F. Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with nursing supervisors, ward in-charges, and maintenance teams.
  • Address cleanliness-related complaints promptly.
  • Coordinate for pest control, laundry services, and waste management.

2. Key Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of hospital infection control practices.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Good communication and conflict-handling skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge (checklists, reports).
  • Time management and attention to detail.

3. KPIs (Performance Indicators)

  • Bed turnover time
  • Daily audit scores
  • Zero complaints/quick resolution
  • Infection control compliance
  • Staff productivity and attendance

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
