We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication Supervisor with strong technical expertise in metal fabrication, welding (TIG, MIG, Laser, Arc), and the ability to interpret and, when needed, prepare fabrication shop drawings. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations on the fabrication floor, ensuring that production of metal fencing, wire mesh panels, gates, and accessories meets quality standards, deadlines, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of fabrication personnel, including welders, fabricators, and helpers.
- Interpret and explain fabrication shop drawings to foremen and fabrication team; prepare or revise drawings if required to ensure clarity and precision.
- Ensure correct fabrication procedures are followed in the production of metal fences, wire mesh panels, gates, and structural accessories.
- Utilize expertise in TIG, MIG, Laser, and Arc welding techniques to assist or guide staff when needed.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all fabricated components meet design specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain and enforce safety protocols and practices on the shop floor.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure materials and specifications are accurate and available.
- Troubleshoot technical and material issues and resolve them promptly to minimize downtime.
- Train and mentor team members to enhance skills and improve productivity.
- Ensure timely completion of projects according to production schedules.
- Maintain records of production, labor, and material usage.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in reading and preparing fabrication/shop drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Deep working knowledge of TIG, MIG, Laser, and Arc welding.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing metal fences, wire mesh panels, and related components.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a fencing or wire mesh manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with CNC machines, cutting, bending, and punching tools used in fence and mesh production.
