Position: Facilities and Transportation Director
Reports To: Head of Finance and Operations
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Schedule: 52 Weeks (3 days/week in the summer)

Job Summary:
The Facilities & Transportation Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the physical environment and transportation services at Rejoice Christian School (RCS). This role is integral in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient learning environment that supports the school’s mission of education, spiritual growth, and athleticism. The Director will work closely with the Head of Finance & Operations to plan, implement, and monitor facilities management and transportation systems, ensuring that operations are cost-effective, aligned with the school's objectives, and executed with excellence.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

A combination of relevant education and professional experience is preferred.

Proficient in G Suite programs and other relevant software.

Strong passion for the mission and values of Rejoice Christian School.

Ability to analyze data, research, and make critical decisions.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to correspond professionally with all stakeholders.

Strong mathematical skills for budgeting, construction, and estimating responsibilities.

Ability to work in challenging conditions, including inclement weather and hazardous environments.

Flexibility to maintain a 24-hour on-call schedule as required by the role.
Essential Functions:
Facilities Management

Oversee the maintenance, grounds, custodial, and facilities departments, ensuring effective operations and upkeep.

Assist in the planning and oversight of new construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Continuously evaluate and improve facility functions, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Prioritize resources and projects in alignment with the school’s mission and operational needs.

Assist the Head of Finance & Operations with recruiting, screening, and hiring staff for facilities management and operations roles.

Oversee the budgeting process for materials, supplies, equipment, and services required for daily operations.

Ensure that the working and learning environment is safe, clean, and visually appealing to students, faculty, and staff.

Promote good stewardship of facilities and grounds to all users, emphasizing the importance of care and maintenance.

Ensure that repairs, improvements, and additions meet high standards for safety, efficiency, and aesthetic quality.

Provide regular reports on facility and transportation operations to the Head of Finance & Operations.
Transportation Management

Plan, direct, and coordinate all transportation services in alignment with the mission of RCS.

Supervise and manage bus drivers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
Inspect vehicles and equipment regularly to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to meet transportation needs efficiently.

Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of transportation staff
- Coordinate with administrators on transportation needs for field trips, extracurricular activities, and special events.

Evaluate transportation regulations and develop operational procedures, standards, and programs to ensure safety and compliance.

Prepare and maintain all necessary reports and records related to student transportation.

Regularly meet with administration to provide updates and resolve any issues related to the transportation program.
Physical and Safety Requirements:

This is a safety-sensitive position; employees may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing.

Ability to work extended hours in diverse and sometimes inhospitable conditions (e.g., inclement weather, temperature extremes, equipment handling, and other physical conditions).

Ability to lift and move equipment, tools, and materials as required for various facilities and transportation duties.

Ability to perform tasks involving machinery, electrical hazards, fumes, smoke, dust, loud noises, and other potentially hazardous materials.
