Facilities Coordinator

Position Summary

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the general maintenance, care, and upkeep of church buildings and grounds. This position supports a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for ministry activities by addressing routine maintenance needs and coordinating with church leadership and committees.

This role does not include responsibility for facility reservations, event scheduling, or custodial/cleaning services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:

o Replacing light bulbs and minor electrical upkeep

o Identifying and addressing minor repair needs

o Blowing off sidewalks and keeping entrance areas clean and clear

o Changing ceiling tiles as needed

  • Monitor the overall condition of church buildings and grounds, reporting larger repair needs or safety concerns to church leadership
  • Assist and collaborate with church committees (e.g., buildings or grounds committees) to support the care and improvement of spaces
  • Help coordinate and, when appropriate, oversee outside contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance
  • Ensure that facilities remain safe, functional, and presentable for church activities (e.g. Inclement weather needs such as putting out salt melt / clearing walks etc. Watering new shrubs and maybe some pruning depending on needs.)

Scope Limitations

The Facilities Coordinator position does not include:

  • Scheduling or managing facility reservations or building use
  • Custodial or housekeeping/cleaning responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of cleaning staff (if applicable)

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
