Facilities Engineer

Responsibilities / Duties


Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Comply with all Safe System of Work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure, Method Statement and Risk Assessments
  • Comply with applicable Permit to Work (PTW) system.
  • Ensure to Cordon the work area if required
  • Ensure the safe use of Hand and Power Tools, Machines and Chemicals.
  • Ensure always maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the task all the time.
  • Stop work, if the work situation poses a risk to life and safety.
  • Actively participate in Toolbox Talks, HSE meetings, Emergency exercises and other HSE promotional programs conducted for employees.
  • Report all Unsafe conditions, Unsafe act and Incident to supervisor.


Grooming:

  • Always maintain a clean and professional appearance.


Operations:

  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) as schedule. Record all corrective action as required.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance tasks carried out, as per Standard Operating Procedures and O&M Manual Recommendations.
  • Operating the assets in the best possible way to achieve maximum performance, efficiency and minimum breakdown.
  • Attend all reactive maintenance as per contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Plan and execute the corrective action recorded during the PPM.
  • Record keeping and generate detailed work reports.
  • Understand and participate in the investigation of RCA.
  • Flexible availability for 24/7 standby duties and emergency call outs and ability to work on rotating shifts.
  • Carry out, to the best of your ability, all tasks assigned by the Manager.
  • Rectify all identified problems escalated by the operations department and provide the best cost-effective solution to maximise asset durability and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the operations team have carried out the recommended and approved solutions within agreed timelines. Carry out necessary checks to ensure the recommended solutions have been executed accurately by the operations team
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the department, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Recommend areas of work that need to be outsourced, prepare a scope of work for that job
  • Comply with all processes and procedures (Human Resources, HSEQ, Finance, Information Technology, Procurement, Operations) which include compliance with all applicable rules and regulations of the local labor law.
  • Competence assessment of MEP Team
  • Flexible availability for 24/7 standby duties and emergency call outs and ability to work on rotating shifts.
  • Document SOW, contingency plans, emergency response and operating procedures
  • Interpretation of measurement results in assessing system operating condition and life cycle.
  • Measurements and performance of all MEP systems. Evaluate design against current operating requirements and recommend enhancements and modifications as per OEM recommendation & training to be provided.
  • Monitoring of maintenance operations, assess the effectiveness of maintenance tasks against system operation.
  • Ensure reactive and corrective maintenance is optimised, Monitor the energy management system, CHW consumptions, Analyse the data and identify ECM opportunities/ Saving initiatives.
  • Analysis of failures to optimise maintenance strategy and reduction of failure. Improving system reliability
  • Continually monitor critical system performance


Authority:

  • Authorized to execute works within the common areas as assigned by the Line Manager or Department Head against a work order.
  • Authorized to request/collect materials from stores for the execution of works against a workorder.
  • Authorized to enter plant rooms and areas that are not restricted by client & within the scope.
  • Not authorized to liaise with client staffs.


Education / Qualifications, Experience & Skills


Education / Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • HSEQ certificate / diploma is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in construction and maintenance, of which 3 years must be in a supervisory position with a multinational workforce.
  • Minimum +3 years’ experience in Operations & Maintenance in GCC.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong teamwork ethic and promote customer service excellence.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Fully understanding Regulatory requirements for critical and LSS systems
  • Full understanding of all Local & international Regulations includes ASHREA.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and codes.
  • Good English & Arabic language ability, both spoken and written.
  • Positive and Proactive attitude.
  • Ability to use basic PC knowledge and PDA.
  • Able to priorities work and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain accuracy when under pressure.
