Job Title: Facilities & Equipment Specialist (Contract / Part-Time)

About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable, mechanically inclined individual to support ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of our sawmill operations and facilities.
This is not a routine, or entry-level maintenance role. We need someone who can think independently, solve problems creatively, and take ownership of keeping both equipment and facilities running smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone experienced in the trades, running their own business, accustomed to solving real-world mechanical problems on their own, or prefers flexible, project-based work.
What You’ll Do
● Maintain and troubleshoot sawmill equipment and related machinery
● Perform general repairs and upkeep on buildings and property
● Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues and implement effective solutions
● Improve equipment setups, workflows, and overall operational efficiency
● Handle a wide variety of hands-on tasks across the facility
● Perform preventative maintenance to extend equipment life
Who This Role Is For
We’re looking for a true problem solver—someone who can walk into a situation, assess it, and figure it out without needing step-by-step direction.
Strong candidates may have backgrounds such as:
● Sawmill operations or woodworking industry
● Farm or agricultural equipment maintenance
● Mechanical or industrial work
● Carpentry or construction (especially master-level skillsets)
● Engineering (hands-on, practical experience preferred)

● Highly mechanically inclined and comfortable working on a wide range of equipment ● Ability to troubleshoot and repair without relying on manuals alone ● Creative thinker who can improvise solutions when needed
● Self-directed and dependable
● Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
● Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Bonus
● Experience with sawmills or wood processing equipment
● Welding or fabrication skills
● Electrical troubleshooting experience
● Experience managing or maintaining a facility
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
